Abstract
The main controlling target for tunneling beneath expressway is that the subsidence of the road should be within a certain limit to ensure regular operation of the road. It is very important to choose a reasonable construction method for such projects. Therefore, selection of reasonable tunneling schemes and control of strata subsidence are greatly important to control the impact on existing roads within an allowed limit. In this chapter, the underground engineering stable equilibrium theory and corresponding techniques were applied to the case of an undercrossing tunnel.
