Abstract
The second aspect of requirements engineering, that of determining information relevant to a decision is taken up in this chapter. First, basic principles that should be followed in developing good quality elicitation techniques are laid down. Thereafter, requirements elicitation processes for each of the four factors identified in Chapter 3 are formulated. The application of these to policy formulation, policy enforcement rules formulation and operational decisions is demonstrated. The manner in which information can be structured to yield an Entity-Relationship schema is considered thereafter. Finally the nature of the tool support is outlined.
