Abstract
Over the last few years, there has been a surge of popularity in live video streaming using Peer-to-Peer network. Today, a significant amount of traffic uses the P2P approach for media transmission. It is a decentralized media communication method, which is more cost-effective and scalable. However, the traditional Peer-to-Peer network suffers various limitations and overlay construction is one of them. Different unstructured overlay approaches like tree and mesh have already been discussed. In this paper, we will provide the utilization-based hybrid overlay for the P2P network. There have been basically two prime considerations for creating the overlay-the upload bandwidth of the peer and utilization of that peer. We have used them as a crucial part in our approach.
