Abstract

This research is diverse and wide ranging. Full scale and small scale experiments were conducted to study the frame and pointed glass façades breakage mechanism. An FEM in house software was developed and used to predict the stress distribution, breakage time and crack initiation and proportion in glazing. Theoretical model was meanwhile built to reveal the heat transfer mechanism in single and double glazing and can help to predict the breakage time or temperature increasing of glass.
