Abstract

In colour image segmentation, a few vector filters are useful, and they are not well applicable. The segmentation tools which are still available, not also colour sensitive. In this paper, we present an approach for color sensitive segmentation method by using the color sensitivity property of hyper complex or quaternion algebra. The filter is based on quaternion convolution and impulse response is determined using modified gray centered RGB color cube. This method demands that every color can be segmented by choosing suitable impulse response.
