A Pilot Study of Indian Ragas-Based Music Therapy for Enhancement of Chronic Patient Health Condition

Abstract

International Diabetes Federation said that there is 5% of Indian population agonizes from diabetes, and it will rise to 123 million by 2040, also one study reveals that three Indians in ten suffered from hypertension and 89% of Indian population suffered from stress. There are various parameters which will impact on the medical health of a patient, and music is one of them. Emotions of individual by changing the timbre will affect by raga as said by ancient Indian classical musical experts some decades ago. Due to advancement in technology and day-by-day increasing work pressure on a human being due to competitions, there is need of an hour to improve health and reduces stress by other traditional way. This review work explores raga music therapy as scientifically the traditional way of medicine. A pilot study reveals that the raga music therapy will enhance health of diabetics, low BP, high BP, and stress of chronic disease patients. At the end mobile app development process flow is explained on the similar concept which may greatly help in improvement of different chronic patients’ health.
