Occupational Trajectories and Experiences of Mobility

  • Chapter
Social Change and Education in Greece

Part of the book series: Marxism and Education ((MAED))

Abstract

In chapter 6, my focus was on some salient structural and compositional aspects of Protopi. The observed patterns of change indicated high rates of absolute mobility, which were largely attributed to the increased incidence of structural mobility, in line with the findings presented in chapter 3 regarding the intensity of transformations in the Greek economy and occupational structure. In this chapter, I shift the focus of my attention onto life-course mobility through the presentation of individuals’ occupational and social mobility pathways.
