Abstract

To contain the spread of STI is one of the objectives of China’s antiprostitution law. However, it still remains ambiguous how, in practice, enforcement of such a law influences the level of HIV risks for sex workers. Guided by the theory of risk environment for HIV infection, this document-based chapter explores the contributions of anti-drug policing to the HIV risk environment surrounding sex workers.
