Abstract

In Vietnam the spread of globalization and the growth of Vietnam’s economy since the Vietnam Communist Party introduced Đổi Mới [Economic Reform] in 1986 have had both positive and negative impacts on the country as a whole. While considerable economic growth has brought back prosperity for the nation and significantly improved the living standards of its people, the side effects are evidenced in subsequent fragmentations of the Vietnamese education system at both the macro and micro levels.
