Introduction
Interdisciplinarity is a very controversial issue in various areas. There are many different opinions if and how important interdisciplinarity can be and the effectiveness is always being questioned.
Several authors looked at the concept of interdisciplinarity and gave various definitions and subdefinitions of interdisciplinarity, multidisciplinarity as well as transdisciplinarity. In this analysis, interdisciplinarity should be understood in a broader context, as a cooperation of different disciplines and actors on a specific topic. Transdisciplinarity and multidisciplinarity are included in the definition of interdisciplinarity.
