Definition

NDVis–neuro is a Java application that enables visualization and analysis of model neuron simulation databases. It is open source and available at http://ndvis.sourceforge.net/. The tool was originally created to visualize the database described in “Alternative to hand-tuning conductance-based models: construction and analysis of databases of model neurons” (Prinz et. al. 2003). It has now been used with a number of different databases generated by simulating neuron models with various input parameters.

Detailed Description

The examples and visualizations shown here are based on the Prinz database referenced above. The neuron model used to create the database contained eight conductance parameters: Na, CaT, CaS, A, KCa, Kd, H, and leak. Each parameter had six possible starting values. A simulation was run for every possible combination of the eight parameter values, yielding 68or 1,679,616 simulations. For each simulation, the conductance parameters served as inputs and...
