Scrub Typhus

This term describes the symptoms of disease due to an infection with the rickettsial agent Rickettsia tsutsugamushi (syn. Rickettsia orientalis), which is transmitted by the larvae of the chigger mite Leptotrombidium akamushi, when sucking lymph at the skin of hosts (including humans).
