This term describes beetles, earthworms, cockroaches, and other animals, which feed feces of vertebrates and thus ingest potentially larvae or eggs of worms. Inside their body a further development (e.g., to larva 3) may occur or stages are just stored until the final host ingests this coprophagous host. In case of a development inside this host, it is considered either as intermediate host or as transport host.
