This is a spring landscape consisting of springs in a modern volcanic area with periodic water or vapour eruptions. The eruption height can reach several metres to dozens of metres. The springs are generally alkaline, often contain silica and carbon dioxide, and sometimes contain boric acid. Typical examples are the Old Faithful Geyser in Yellowstone National Park in the United States and the Yangbajing Hot Spring in Tibet, China.
