This park is located in the northwestern corner of East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. The core protection area covers 2,193 km2. The volcanic islands are the habitat for more than 5,700 giant lizards. Because of their unique appearance and aggressive nature, they are also known as Komodo dragons. Because no similar species can be found anywhere else in the world, the giant lizard attracts scientists who study evolution.
