Dictionary of Geotourism

This climate type can be found on the eastern coasts of subtropical continents that extend from 25° to 35° north and south latitudes in the northern and southern hemispheres. It is mainly located in the southern Qinling Mountains – Huaihe line in eastern China, southeastern North America, eastern South America, southeast Australia and the southeast corner of Africa. The subtropical monsoon climate is controlled by tropical marine air masses during the summer and polar continental air masses in the winter, when the temperature and precipitation are low. The seasonal distribution of rainfall is uneven, and the natural vegetation landscape is subtropical evergreen broadleaf forest.
