The National Geopark Planning Compilation Technical Requirements issued by the Ministry of Land and Resources in June 2010 classified landscape resources of geological relics into seven major groups, 25 types and 56 sub-types comprising geological sections, geological structures, palaeontology, minerals and mineral deposits, landscapes and water bodies. A geological heritage resource survey report and geopark plan should be completed according to these classification criteria. Other tourism planning or scenic planning activities involving geological heritage of landscape resources can also use this classification (Table 1).
