Summary
We develop the gauge technique to investigate the Dyson-Schwinger equation for the quark propagator in quantum chromodynamics. We retain the transverse vertex function and extend the theory to finite temperatures. We demonstrate thatT c≥T F: Chiral-symmetry restoration cannot take place before quark liberation. We conclude that chiral-symmetry restoration occurs at some critical temperatureT c as a result of the infrared properties of the transverse vertex function whose presence is responsible for the broken symmetric solution at zero temperature.
