Summary
1. Injuries to the bladder (a) during incision of the parietal peritoneum, (b) in abdominal total hysterectomy, and (c) in certain other abdominal operations are discussed.
2. Clinical details of nine cases of bladder injury in abdominal operations are given, together with a short commentary.
3. Injuries to the bladder in vaginal operations are briefly discussed.
4. Certain points of importance in the operative treatment of post-hysterectomy vesico-vaginal fistula are suggested.
