Dr. Terry A. Berger, Chromatographia’s scientific editor since 1992, will celebrate his 70th birthday on November 14. He is best known for his resurrection of packed column supercritical fluid chromatography: he dispelled widely held misconceptions and led the technological breakthrough of modern FSC. In recognition of his many contributions to the field of separation science, he was awarded the 2004 Martin Gold Medal. His tireless work in new ventures, in addition to his editorial duties and his own authorship projects, was summarized in a tribute to mark his 60th birthday. Chromatographia, (2006) 64:501–502: doi:10.1365/s10337-006-0089-2. His sustained activities, achievements, and outstanding influence can be seen in his recent publications, e.g., in Chromatographia.
On behalf of the editors, publisher, and readers of Chromatographia, we wish to thank Terry for his tireless commitment to Chromatographia, to congratulate him on his special day, and to wish him all the best for the future.
