Synthesis of paramagnetic spiropyran derivatives

Paramagnetic derivatives of spiropyran have been obtained by condensation of paramagnetic N-iminium salts with o-hydroxyaromatic aldehydes. The structures of three of the six synthesized radicals were proven by X-ray structural analysis.
