Samenvatting

‘Ad omne opus bonum paratus’: tot elk goed werk bereid. Dat was het motto van De Boekelse Congregatie Broeders Penitenten in Huize Padua. In 1832 wijdden ze zich als eerste congregatie in Nederland officieel aan de zorg voor ‘krankzinnigen’. Op het bijna driehonderdjarige landgoed zit nu het Hoogspecialistisch Centrum Hersenletsel Huize Padua, onderdeel van GGZ Oost Brabant.
