Abstract
We describe an adaptable node architecture for future 4th Generation wireless networks. The node will be capable of running a large range of network applications and will be able to adapt its mode of operation to the radio environment and prevailing wireless network architecture. The core of this node consists of a dynamic protocol stack that can be configured, from a suite of protocols, based on the requirements of the underlying network. The node will be capable of operating in traditional wireless networks as well as in Ad-hoc wireless communications systems.
