Abstract

The Canary Islands constitute an isolated spot of great interest which has been poorly studied from a climatic point of view. The archipelago is located in the subtropical North Atlantic under the influence of the semipermanent high pressure system centered centered at 30°N-40°N in the northeastern Atlantic Ocean. However, the Islands’steep orography makes them much wetter that is usual at these latitudes.
