Abstract

The principle goal of this research is to relate the aerodynamic and electrical properties for aerosols consisting of agglomerates to their physical dimensions. In this paper we describe the experimental measurements for the aerodynamic properties of clusters near the sooting limit. The aerodynamic properties of the soot particles are determined from measurements of the diffusion coefficient for small particles and by inertial impaction for the larger clusters. Electron micrographic analysis was also performed with clusters selected at a constant electrical mobility.
