Abstract

The low-level universal inference operations, indifferent to knowledge substances, and higher-level task specific macro-operations for competent expert system performance are addressed. The latter ones are credited as vital and essential knowledge complements. In this respect generic reasoning templates — prescriptions related to declarative knowledge — assøciated in lines of reasoning are pointed out. The discussion with regard to disclosing corresponding operational patterns is followed by some illustrating examples.
