Abstract
As in any programming language, loops are an essential part of the language. Loops are used to enable the repeated execution of a block of code. There are four types of loops: for; while; do while; and for each. Each of them has their specific uses. All loop types are controlled by expressions and conditions. In this chapter we will examine the first three types of loops. The for each loop construct will be explained in Chapter 14 as this type of loop is only used to access the contents of an array. We shall begin by examining the while loop.
