Abstract

The previous chapters, including the normative analysis, found strong evidence to conclude that the Layeha addresses an internal audience with the ultimate objective of gaining legitimacy with the final target, the external audience, through change of behavior of the Taliban members in line with the norms and expectations of the external audience. Sanctions, charisma of the leadership, or norms and values were discussed as possible means to influence behavior, and the process of elimination found the legitimization path (d) in Figure 3.1 to be the most plausible one.
