Abstract
There are numerous frequency-dependent effects associated with the magnetic properties of solids. Since it is impossible to deal with all of these within the scope of this volume, we have chosen paramagnetic relaxation and nuclear magnetic resonance as particular examples in order to illustrate certain aspects of these phenomena. Other frequency-dependent effects are mentioned briefly. Cyclotron resonance has been mentioned already in Sec. 13-6 in connection with the determination of the effective mass of electrons in semiconductors; it will therefore not be discussed here.
