Abstract

The purpose of this study is that of defining the basis on which an EEC-CMEA agreement can be signed in order to establish successfully a multilateral framework of rules among East and West European countries in the fields of trade and co-operation. The aim is not, however, that of describing the historical evolution of the EECCMEA negotiations; on the contrary, the draft of a formal treaty, which the EEC and the CMEA could conceivably sign together, will be introduced.
