Abstract

Children who regularly disrupt class lessons, be they well or ill prepared, are a perennial concern of teachers. The term ‘disruptive’, however, is used to describe a wide range of very different behaviours and the child who is described as disruptive almost invariably displays a number of undesirable or unacceptable behaviours. As this Unit is basically restricted to reducing and controlling disruptive incidents, you will need to refer to other Units in TIPs if you are to deal with the child’s difficulties effectively in the long term.
