Abstract
Algebra is the study of abstract systems. One of the most fundamental of these systems is called a group. The notion of a group is used in many branches of mathematics and in a wide variety of applications, including computer design and programming languages, coding, elementary particle and nuclear physics, quantum mechanics, molecular structure and crystallography.
