Abstract

Individuals who are dependent on drugs or alcohol use these substances as a way of dealing with their problems. Robinson4 writes that people with addictive personalities do not choose to think their way through problems. They live in their feelings predominantly. They use alcohol and drugs as substitutes for thinking, resolving problems and getting their needs met.
