Abstract
There are words in the English language that are best left to speak for themselves. Their shortness and simplicity defy precise definition. ‘Mark’ is such a word. Everyone really knows what a mark is and one reputable dictionary states ‘Mark — making a mark…” etc. So a mark is a mark.
