Abstract

Being a supervisor is a tough job, but a crucial one. it is all too often undervalued by employers. Very often people are promoted to the job of supervisor because of technical competence, or because they have been in the job for a long time. In most cases, supervisors are expected to know how to supervise but are not given the training which would help them do this effectively. The job of the supervisor is difficult, and needs proper training. If you have not had training as a supervisor, you should examine the possibilities of attending a course of study in supervisory management at a local college of further education.
