Abstract

There is a story of an advertising campaign heralding the launch of a new model by one of the leading motor manufacturers which announced proudly that the car’s engine would not harm the ozone layer; this is a truism — to know why is to have an appreciation of the main environmental issues and reference to this chapter is probably not necessary, but if not then read on.
