The subject to be discussed in this chapter is one of the most important and relatively old aspects of fluid dynamics. When a charged fluid is set in motion the charge and current densities generate an electromagnetic field which through Maxwell’s equations couples with the fluid’s own equations of motion giving rise to what is now called magnetohydrodynamics.
