Abstract

In this chapter, I include recipes for returning data from a SQL Server database using the SELECT statement. At the beginning of each chapter, you’ll notice that most of the basic concepts are covered first. This is for those of you who are new to the SQL Server 2008 Transact-SQL query language. In addition to the basics, I’ll also provide recipes that can be used in your day-to-day development and administration. These recipes will also help you learn about the new functionality introduced in SQL Server 2008.
