Abstract

One of the biggest killers of productivity in any company is complacency. Sometimes it’s due to personal laziness. Other times it’s the result of stifling bureaucracy. Most of all, though, the greatest danger to the long-term health of the empire is clinging to the status quo, that feeling that if things are okay today, then it will always be so. This inevitably results in an organization of people who sit on their hands and do nothing to prepare for the challenges of the coming day. The result is always the same: decline, and ultimately, failure.
