Abstract
In this chapter, you will learn to create and build sophisticated spreadsheets in the Google Docs environment. This coverage of spreadsheets will be aimed at both the beginner and intermediate users, and it will provide sections on both basic and more advanced techniques of using spreadsheets. For example, you will learn about the basic manipulation and formatting of spreadsheets in Google Docs and how to use formulas. In the more advanced section, you will learn to use multiple sheets, data validation, sheet protection, and conditional formatting. A section on charts will show you how to use charts in the Google Docs environment and point out any limitations in the environment. You will also learn more advanced techniques for using formulas, such as the IF and VLOOKUP functions, as well as functions specific to Google Spreadsheets (Spreadsheets). Throughout the chapter, you will see hints and tips that point out features specific to the Google Docs environment.
