Abstract

Another critical skill for PMs to have is the ability to condense everything that’s happening on a project at any given time into a concise update. You see, PMs communicate project status updates all the time, and about half of those updates are delivered verbally to a live audience. You need to be able to morph your message depending on your audience. Exactly what data and to what level of detail you present needs to be tailored to whomever it is that receives this information. It needs to be relevant and actionable to each person, and that’s a bit of a challenge for PMs.
