Abstract
Relay systems constitute the simplest type of principally nonlinear dynamical systems. They are described by differential equations with discontinuous characteristics and are therefore often called discontinuous systems. In the automatic control theory, the interest in the investigation of discontinuous systems is due to the use of servomechanisms of the full speed ahead-full speed astern type and also because of amplitude constraints imposed on signals.
