Ossification in Neurological Conditions

  • Chapter
Soft Tissue Ossification

Abstract

Although best known as a complication of traumatic paraplegia, soft tissue ossification may occur in the aftermath of a variety of neurological conditions. Despite this diversity, similar pathogenic mechanisms seem to be involved in each case and thus there is an advantage in considering all of these conditions under the same headings.
