Abstract

Tumours in the central nervous system (CNS) include metastatic disease and primary tumours which range from highly malignant such as high-grade gliomas to curable tumours which include meningiomas, benign pituitary adenomas and cranial germ-cell tumours. Radiotherapy is the mainstay of primary therapy both in the curative and the palliative setting.
