Vascularization of Skin Grafts: Autografts and Allografts

  • Chapter
Experimental Skin Grafts and Transplantation Immunity

Abstract

The biologic fate of skin grafts has intrigued clinicians and researchers since the early experiments of Bert (1865). The summary of clinical research observations presented in this chapter is derived mainly from a review by Converse, McCarthy, Brauer, and Ballantyne (1977), incorporating pertinent information from Clemmesen (1967) and Šmahel (1977).
