Abstract

A classical trajectory model, MENEKA, is described which addresses small angle correlations resulting from final state Coulombic interations between pairs of detected particles. The model takes particular care of the details of the detector array geometry and reproduces the observed singles and coincidence spectra. Three different forms of correlation functions are studied for their sensitivity to emission time, emission order and source size. The MENEKA analysis is applied to data from 34 MeV/A 40Ar + 107Ag to obtain the relative emission order for d-Li pairs. A similar analysis for the extraction of emission time information from particle energy-gated data for d-d pairs shows a wide range of emission times from ~ 1000 fm/c at 10 MeV Ecm to ~ 50 fm/c at 40 MeV Ecm.
