Abstract
The discovery of a pathological alteration in the plasma membrane of a eukaryotic cell is, for the biochemist, reflexively associated with isolation of either the altered component or the altered entity. The purpose of this chapter is to provide some general guidelines for separation of the membrane as an entity.
