Abstract
The possibilities of achieving high level self-sustained economic growth by the less developed countries of the world has taken on a new dimension in the past generation with the emergence of three powerful forces. First, widespread desire by the people of these countries to rapidly raise their standards of living and a belief that this is a feasible goal. Second, the provision of substantial financial and technical assistance by the more developed nations. Third, the forging of regional institutions to advance economic growth.
