Abstract
During the late sixties and the early seventies a large amount of resources was spent on the development of the Greenland fisheries sector. This development included the establishment of a fleet of modern fishing vessels designed for catching primarily cod in the open waters of West Greenland. Storage and production facilities were set up in a number of places along the west coast of Greenland.
