Abstract
This chapter discusses our search for crime and delinquency scales and the decisions for their inclusion. We began with a search for relevant scales and research studies conducted on them (identification), then sought to obtain copies of the scale items (acquisition), to select those of greatest use or promise (selection), and finally to write concise evaluations (review). Each of these steps required a number of procedures and produced several decision points.
